Calas de Roche

COMPOSED OF SEVEN COVES

Average length: 1.800 m
Swimming conditions: moderate waters

Composed of seven small coves, high cliffs provide shelter from the eastern wind for a large number of sunbathers, when the winds are at full force. Of all the coves, only 4 have beach accesses, but it’s possible to access the remaining coves during low tide. At the top of the bank, a network of paths runs through Mediterranean scrub with species such as sea fennel or maritime juniper. This path joins the coves and allows you to enjoy a walk with panoramic views across the entire beach. Access to the beach is via the CA-4202 road.

The length of the beach has been calculated at low tide. There are certain stretches that are not usable for swimmers. In addition, during high tide some of the coves may be left without a strip of sand. Near the coves, under the Roche Lighthouse, is the fishing port of Conil de la Frontera, from where the almadraba conileña tuna fishing boats set sail.

Atunes en el Paraíso

El milenario arte de de la almadraba, usada para la pesca del atún rojo, ha determinado el devenir de muchos pueblos costeros gaditanos. Los atunes lo tienen claro. Se vienen al paraíso.
