Average length: 630 m
Swimming conditions: moderate waters
Protected from the east winds, surrounded by breakwaters and seawalls, lies the Playa de Santa María del Mar, also known as La Playita de las Mujeres. A high and steep slope separates the beach from the promenade and reduces its beach accesses to the two ends. With a narrow strip of sand, at high tide beachgoers use the cemented part of the embankment, or the protection of the remains of the ancient wall, to continue enjoying the remaining hours of sunlight.
Its shape creates good conditions for surfing, which can only be practiced outside of swimming hours or during the off season.
